About

"Who are you?" said the Caterpillar.

Just another law student with something to say about law school, firms, work, recruiting, and journal work. I'm a 2L at a Boston-area law school. I'm on a journal and am currently starting fall recruiting to find myself a summer job. I needed a place to keep my thoughts in order and archive them, so I created this site!

Spring 2003 Update. The summer job is procured (though not through fall recruiting). I have less to say about firms and recruiting because I've poked enough fun at them, and because I have pretty much diverted myself away from ever working at one. It may still happen in the future, which will be gloriously fun to write about.

Law students are still bizarre and fun to write about, but I tend to avoid all but the most wickedly amusing ones. So, now this blog is a terribly hard to define admixture of my observations and interests (tinged with a good dose of humor and sarcasm -- or a terrible lack of discretion).

For those who wish to know -- I do not disclose my "Boston-area law school." I prefer to maintain at least a modicum of anonymity.

Why whostolethetarts.com?

If you've ever read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, you will remember the trial (chapter 11 - Who Stole the Tarts?). It is a funny satire on the justice system and trials. The jurors are marvellously stupid, the judge tyrannical, the evidence nonsensical. In the real world, perhaps things aren't quite that obvious, but maybe that makes it even more dangerous.
